We've Been on Both Sides

ForgeLinks was started by professionals with direct experience in civil engineering, construction operations, and AI systems development. We've managed the paperwork. We've chased the RFIs. We've watched project teams lose hours every day to documentation that should have been automated years ago.

We also understand what modern AI can actually do — and more importantly, what it can't do without the right architecture, the right domain knowledge, and the right deployment model.

That combination — construction operations expertise and AI engineering — is what makes ForgeLinks different. We don't build AI for construction from the outside looking in. We build it from the inside, for people like us.

The Problem We Saw

Construction is a trillion-dollar industry running on email threads, paper forms, and spreadsheets. The volume of documents, coordination demands, and compliance requirements is staggering — and it's growing every year.

Meanwhile, generic AI tools don't solve the real problem. They don't understand construction workflows, document formats, or the professional standards that govern engineering decisions. They produce chat responses when you need structured, referenced, reviewable documents that can withstand scrutiny.

We saw an industry that desperately needs AI — and an AI market that doesn't understand the industry. ForgeLinks exists to close that gap.

Research Partnership

NSF Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC)

ForgeLinks is actively developing a proposal for an NSF IUCRC focused on agentic AI applications in the construction and engineering industries. The IUCRC model brings together industry partners and university researchers to advance pre-competitive, industry-relevant research — funded collaboratively and guided by the participating companies themselves.

We are currently seeking participating companies to join this initiative.

Participating companies help shape the research agenda, gain early access to applied AI research and tools, and contribute to setting industry standards for AI deployment in construction. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the foundational work that will define how AI operates in the built environment.

If your company is interested in advancing AI capabilities for the construction industry through collaborative research, we'd like to hear from you.
